I'm a Parisian Restaurant Concierge, Here's What I Book for My Clients (and Why)
People find me through Instagram, through ChatGPT, through a friend who once had a dinner they couldn't stop talking about. They contact me saying some version of the same thing: "I want a special table in Paris, and I have no idea where to start."
I'm Marianne Forest. I'm Parisian, I've spent the last two years inside the city's restaurant and nightlife scene, and I run a concierge service for people who want more than just a reservation, they want the right table, at the right place, for the right moment.
Here's a look at what I actually do, and why it's not something an app can replicate.
What "a good table" actually means
There's a misconception that a table is a table. It isn't.
At Les Ombres, the table by the glass wall overlooking the Eiffel Tower is a completely different experience from the table in the middle of the room. At a romantic restaurant in Saint-Germain, the corner alcove with low lighting is nothing like the table next to the kitchen door. At a rooftop address in the 16th, the difference between a front-row seat and a back row is the difference between a memory and a mediocre evening.
I know these rooms. I know the staff. I know which table to ask for and how to ask for it.
What I book, and for whom
For couples on a romantic evening
I look for atmosphere, lighting, placement, and a kitchen that takes the experience seriously. My go-to addresses vary by mood: intimate and candlelit, grand and panoramic, understated and authentically Parisian. I don't have one answer. I have the right answer for each person.
For special occasions
Anniversaries, milestone birthdays, proposals, I coordinate with the restaurant on personal touches: a handwritten note from the chef, a specific bottle waiting at the table, a dessert timed to arrive at exactly the right moment. These things don't happen by accident. Someone has to organize them.
For business dinners
I select restaurants where a conversation can actually be had: the right noise level, the right distance between tables, a setting that signals seriousness without being sterile. I've sent clients to L'Arôme, to Aux Lyonnais, to addresses that don't make the tourist lists but that every savvy Parisian business lunch regulars know well.
For nightlife
Paris's most selective clubs are not accessible without the right contact. I reserve VIP tables at L'Arc, Bonnie, and Le Matignon for clients who want to experience the Parisian night at its best, without the line, without the uncertainty, without showing up and being turned away.
Why people hire me instead of just booking online
Because online platforms show you what's available. I get you what isn't.
The best tables don't appear on TheFork. The best clubs don't put their VIP access on a website. Access comes through relationships, with restaurant managers, with reservations teams, with the people who actually run these establishments night after night.
Beyond that: I speak French. I know the codes. I know which restaurants are genuinely good right now and which ones are coasting on a reputation from three years ago. I know which kitchens to trust for a business lunch and which ones are better suited to a relaxed dinner with friends.
This city has thousands of restaurants. What I offer is precision.
What working with me looks like
You contact me. You tell me the occasion, the number of guests, your tastes, your budget. Within 24 hours, I come back to you with a recommendation and take care of everything from there.
My services start at €30 for a classic reservation and go up to €100 for major occasions and proposals. You pay for the concierge service; the restaurant bill is settled directly with the establishment.
No stress. No guesswork. No table near the kitchen.
